Weather woes bring schedule changes at Lucas Oil Speedway


WHEATLAND, Mo. -- Based on this past Saturday's event cancellation at Lucas Oil Speedway, track officials are pleased to communicate the following 2014 schedule updates.

KIX 105.7 and 92.3 BOB FM Night has been rescheduled to August 23rd as part of the regularly scheduled Budweiser Weekly Championship series event. If you or a friend received tickets from KIX 105.7 or 92.3 BOB FM for June 28th, please call the KXKX studios at (660) 826-1050 or stop by the KXKX studios for details on how to redeem tickets for the August 23rd event.

August 23rd is also Public Safety Appreciation Night as all Police, Fire, and Rescue Personnel are admitted FREE to the Speedway with ID.

With the Mid-Season Championships set to take place this past Saturday as well, Officials with Lucas Oil Speedway have determined the Mid-Season Championship to be complete as of June 28th based on their current points position.

The Mid-Season Championship winners are as follows: Jake Williams in the #72W from Lockwood, MO with 300 Points leading the ALPS Food Store ULMA Late Models, Tim Setzer in the #51 Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds from Archie, MO with 768 points, Kris Jackson from Lebanon, MO in the #65 car, with 576 points in the Tri-Lakes RV USRA B-Mods and last but not least David Hendrix in the #54, Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks. Each Mid-Season Champion will receive $100 cash and trophy on July 3rd.

Based on low competitor participation this past weekend and lower than expected fan count, Lucas Oil Speedway and NBRA officials have also mutually agreed to cancel the previously scheduled September 19 & 20th, 2014 NBRA event. The Bill Roberts Chevrolet-Buick Season Championship Event on the dirt track on September 20th is unaffected and will take place as scheduled.

Lucas Oil Speedway will be back in action this Thursday, July 3rd with Casey's General Stores "Thursday Night Thunder" featuring a complete Budweiser Weekly Racing Series event including $1,000 to win ALPS Food Store ULMA Late Models courtesy of Rains Ice plus the Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks, and Tri-Lakes RV B-Mods. A huge Fireworks show will also take place following the completion of the racing action.

Lucas Oil Speedway is located at Highways 83 and 54 in Wheatland, MO. A campground with shower and bathroom facilities is also available. With it's entrance located just outside the pit gate this sprawling scenic camping facility will continue to enhance the racing experience at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks.
