Upper Iowa Speedway pushes season opener to May 2, splits schedule with Cresco


DECORAH, Iowa--The season opener at the Upper Iowa Speedway will now take place next weekend on Saturday, May 2. The opener was scheduled for April 25, however, track officials have announced that they will instead host an open practice on Saturday night from 5-9 p.m. There will be a $10 pit pass fee but no grandstand admission fee. There will also be no concessions.

The Upper Iowa Speedway will again split schedules with the Howard County Fair Board and the Cresco Speedway. A total of nine race dates throughout the course of the 2015 season will be held at the Cresco Speedway including a pair of Holley Iron Man Series events for USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods.

A few highlights from the split schedule include the USMTS Modifieds and Holley Iron Man Series on May 24 at the Upper Iowa Speedway, the Howard County Fair race on June 28 at the Cresco Speedway, the Holley Iron Man Series on July 2 at Cresco, the Winneshiek County Fair race on July 7 at the Upper Iowa Speedway and the Holley Iron Man Series on Oct. 2 at Cresco.

All schedules are subject to change. Hot laps begin at 6 p.m. and racing to follow at 6:30.
