It’s a three-peat on Winneshiek County Fair Night at Upper Iowa Speedway

DECORAH, Iowa—The 2015 Winneshiek County Fair kicked off an exciting fair week on Tuesday night at the Upper Iowa Speedway.

Kevin Donlan picked up his first USRA Stock Car feature win of the season at the Upper Iowa Speedway two weekends ago where he lead every lap of the feature event. On Tuesday night, Donlan started deeped in the field for the main event. Pole sitter Kyle Falck, jumped about to an early lead with Bryan Webb heavily pursuing. Just as Webb found in the inside line on Falck, a caution flag was waved for a stalled car in the middle of the corners.

On the restart, Falck lead Webb, Mitch Hovden and Kevin Donlan. The four started to break away from the field, and it was a battle for the number one spot. Donlan was riding on the high side and Webb on the bottom. Eventually Donlan began to separate himself, and Webb was able to snag second away from Falck and Hovden. Donlan crossed first and Webb crossed second followed by Falck and Hovden. Donlan claimed his second feature win in as many tries at the Upper Iowa Speedway on fair night.

The USRA B-Mods were due up second on the evening. Kyle Anderson, fresh off his Holley Iron Man Series victory at the Fayette County Speedway on Friday night, drew the pole pill. Anderson has had multiple runner-up finishes at the Upper Iowa Speedway this season with his lone two wins coming at the Fayette County Speedway. Anderson jumped out to a very early, multiple car lead before a caution struck just after the mid-way point. This brought the field back together with Matt Jones and Dan Hovden sitting in second and third. Hovden and Anderson started to break away for a two car battle for the lead, but yet, Anderson still held onto a two car advantage. Another caution late in the race again brought the field together with now Hovden in second and Jones in third. When the white flag flew, Anderson and Hovden were side by side heading into the first set of corners. Hovden gained some space between him and Anderson on the back stretch and that was enough to seal the deal on fair night with Hovden scoring another win at the Upper Iowa Speedway.

The USRA Hobby Stocks were called up next on fair night at the Upper Iowa Speedway. Chris Hovden has been on a rampage lately scoring victories at Upper Iowa, Cresco Speedway, and the Fayette County Speedway. For the fourth time in as many tries, Hovden scored his first fair win on Tuesday night after weaving his way through the traffic from an 8th place starting position. Hovden out raced Hobby Stock extraordinaire Benji Irvine followed by Steve Larson to round at the top three on Tuesday night.
