LAS CRUCES, N.M.—Saturday wasn't a normal night at the Southern New Mexico Speedway because not only were there five awesome classes, but the program also featured the $3,000-to-win Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Car feature that was rained out two weeks ago on the Fourth of July.

There were 40 laps for the USRA Stock Cars before intermission with $3,000 on the line, and then another 20-lapper after intermission for the weekend points.

Twenty-four USRA Stock Cars were on hand to battle for the biggest prize ever offered to drivers in this division at the Southern New Mexico Speedway.

After going to the rear of the field twice during the feature, Derek Demartino held off Lloyd Turner at the checkered flag to get the win, with Patrick Beach, Rick Boelter and Garrett Stearns rounding out the top five.

Turner bounced back to win the regular 20-lap feature of the night with Jaime Torres second, Stearns third, Rudy Tarin fourth and Casey Preece fifth.

The USRA Modifieds were the final show of the evening and 20 cars rumbled to the finish with Jake Gallardo picking up a wire-to-wire victory in front of Bumper Jones, who held off his father and track promoter Royal Jones for the runner-up paycheck.

Fito Gallardo was charging hard but had to settles for fourth after an early-race mishap, and Todd Harper held on to round out the top five finishers.

If you missed all this action tonight you will not want to miss next weekend as the USRA Stock Cars and the USRA B-Mods will be in action. Gates will open at 5:30 and racing starts at 7:45.
