Dunn $1,000 USRA Modified winner at RPM Speedway

CRANDALL, Texas—The inaugural Hella Shrine Classic was held at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, on Friday night. The Shriners were trying to raise money for the Shriner’s Children Hospital. A nice crowd was on hand and four classes of cars were competing for cash and prizes. Several sponsors stepped up and added more money to the purses.

In the A&H Electrical Services USRA Modifieds, $1,000 was up for grabs to the feature winner. Clyde Dunn Jr. was the local favorite having won the last two USRA Modified features. “Lil Freaky” started on the fourth row outside in the 20-lap A-main and it took him several laps into the feature but he powered his way past Cody Smith for the lead and the $1,000 feature win.

Charlie Smith ended up second, Wesley Veal was third, Smith settled for fourth and Lee McCullough was fifth.

This was Dun's third feature win in a row since the grand re-opening of the RPM Speedway under the direction of the Edwards family.
