MLRA Memphis go washed out

MEMPHIS, Mo. -- Officials with the O'Reilly MLRA and the Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway have announced the tonight's (Saturday, Aug. 13) running of the dirt late model "Thunder Tour" and the USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series has been postponed due to weather.

Heavy rains on Friday, coupled with continued rain Saturday morning, forced the tough decision to be made.

"The weather decided not to cooperate with us this weekend so we'll load up and do it again next week at Midway Speedway," commented MLRA's Harriett Chancellor when reached en route to Memphis.

Coming up next week at the Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway will be the second stop of the year for the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders presented by J & J Ag. The USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series will continue in the Modifieds, Stock Cars, B-Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Hornets and Cruisers.

Gates next week will open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7.
