Steve Dwyer garnered win #12 on Sunday, Sept. 5, at the Cresco Speedway.

CRESCO, Iowa -- The final event of the season was held on Sunday, Sept. 5, at the Cresco Speedway with Patty Fosaaen (USRA Hobby Stocks), Brian Gjere (USRA Stock Cars), Curtis Engen (Street Stocks) and Steve Dwyer (Hornets) taking the wins in USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series action.

Fosaaen, from Waukon, captured the USRA Hobby Stock main event after starting third on the grid. It was her third win in the last six weeks at the Cresco speedplant. Second through fifth went to Justin Elsbernd, Ben Moudry, Sam Wenthold and Shane Panos.

In USRA Stock Car action, Brian Gjere of Mabel, Minn., garnered his first win of the season as he came out on top of a spirited battle with track champion Tom Schmitt. Lynn Panos, Kevin Bidne and Jeff Vsetecka completed the top-5 finishers.

Curtis Engen of Monona scored a victory in the Street Stock main event from the outside of the front row. Engen held off polesitter Austin Curtin for his second triumph in the past three weeks. Track champion Scott Splide took third, followed by Bob Praska and Brandon Hare.

Steve Dwyer of La Crosse, Wis., finished the season with yet another Hornet win -- his 12th of the season at Cresco. Chris Gooder, Scott Krone, Adam Ewing and Tony McGuire rounded out the top-5 finishers.

Sunday's event brought down the curtain on the 2005 season at the Cresco Speedway. Banquet information will be announced in the near future. For more information, visit us online at www.CrescoSpeedway.com.
