Thunderhill back in action this Saturday

MAYETTA, Kan. -- After an unplanned week off at Thunderhill Speedway last week due to the unpredictable Kansas weather, racing action will return this weekend to the Mayetta, Kan., speedway.

The Thundersprints will headline the show as they will attempt to duplicate a spectacular opening night race. They will be joined by the USRA Modified, Superstock, USRA Hobby Stock and Vintage classes.

The opening night race at Thunderhill saw Topeka driver Chad Meinholdt fly from his 12th-place starting position into the top spot for the win. The fearless Meinholdt used the high side of the speedway to take the win at a track that he has virtually dominated in the Sprint ranks.

Travis Patch will look to continue his run in the USRA Modified division as he tries to defend his 2005 points championship along with his opening night win. Matt Stallbaumer will try to win again in the Superstocks, but he'll face tough opposition from drivers like Travis Tenpenny and Jason Lewman, who challenged him on opening night.

Brad LaBonte won the opening night feature in the USRA Hobby Stocks and looks to improve upon his third place finish in points in 2005.

The Vintage cars will also make their first appearance of the season at Thunderhill.
