Mother Nature slide jobs Southern New Mexico Speedway

Mother Nature struck hard Saturday after what seemed like a beautiful evening to go racing at the Southern New Mexico Speedway. Skies were beautiful around five o'clock until a hard cold breeze attacked from the north.

Heavy winds then followed with radar showing heavy rain and hail coming from the north. Bad weather moved in quick, forcing Southern New Mexico Speedway officials to cancel the races for the safety of drivers and fans.

The Southern New Mexico Speedway will be back in action next Saturday night, July 1, for Mesilla Valley Transportation Night and fireworks. Tickets are on sale for this huge event during the week at 3590 W. Picacho in Las Cruces. There will be an express ticket line for early bird ticket buyers next week to avoid long lines.
