Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) is pleased to announce additional details for the 2018 race season special-event weekends. As previously announced, the track is set to host drivers and fans for a total of 24 nights of racing next season form opening night on Saturday, April 21, through the final night of racing on Saturday, Sept. 22.

In between the opening and closing dates, there are nine various track specials planned beginning with the first of three events built around the big three summer holiday weekends. Memorial Day Weekend action takes place on Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27, USRA Modifieds begin their weekend with night one preliminary action on Saturday, along with Out-Pace USRA B-Mods. Pure Stocks, Street Stocks and Mod-Lites round out the Saturday program.

On Sunday, USRA Modifieds return for a 35-lap finale with $3,000 going to the winner. Joining USRA Modifieds for night two are the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, E-Mods and ULMA Late Models.

Just over a month after the first special events, momentum builds with the track’s long-standing premiere event: the 13th Annual Tom Wilson Memorial BBQ Bowl. Night one action takes flight on Saturday, June 30, with USRA Modified drivers competing in preliminary action and a chance to earn a spot onto the night two finale starting grid. Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Mod-Lites also compete.

On Sunday, July 1, the Independence Day Weekend continues with the 50-lap, $5,000-to-win USRA Modified finale. Mod-Lites and E-Mods also race.

The track hosts yet another summer holiday weekend with the Labor Day Weekend of special events. For Saturday, Sept. 1, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods compete in the first of two straight nights of racing for $1,000 to win each night. USRA Modifieds begin their preliminary events along with Mod-Lites, Pure Stocks and Street Stocks to round out the night one program.

Sunday, Sept. 2, features a $3,000-to-win, 35-lap main event for USRA Modified drivers with Out-Pace USRA B-Mods returning for their second straight $1,000-to-win event. ULMA Late Models return for the final appearance of the year while E-Mods also mark their final CMS laps of the season as part of the night two action.

The final special-event of the year also serve as the final race of the year for 2018 when the second-annual Street Stock Showdown takes center stage over two nights in late September. Night one action begins on Friday, Sept. 21 with three rounds of heat races for Street Stock drivers with Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and Mod-Lites also on the card. When night two rolls around on Saturday, Sept. 22, Street Stocks gun for the big $5,000-to-win prize with Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and Mod-Lites returning for a second-consecutive night of racing.

When the 2018 season begins, Earl and Susan Walls mark their 23rd year as owners and promoters of CMS, which is well known as the ‘Home of the Mighty Modifieds’ to the racing faithful. This tagline will never ring truer when the already hefty payout for the USRA Modified sees an even bigger boost next season! Weekly event winners are still guaranteed $1,000 for the win but the remaining purse is sure to draw attention as second place on down starts at $900 and decreases in tiered increments throughout the finish order, $800, $700, $600, $500, $450, $400 $300, $250, $240, $230, $220, $210, $205, $200, $195, $190, $185, $180, $180, $180, $160, $160, $160.

However, it doesn’t just stop with the standard weekly race program increase! If there are 24 or more cars for a weekly program, the purse increases even more with the exciting addition of a random draw to decide what bonus purse CMS will use for the payout at the end of the night.

The winner will either go away with $1,200 or $1,500 for the victory.
