3rd Annual Trackside BBQ Bash coming Aug. 10-11 to I-35 Speedway

Normally a race track will include the smell of spent racing fuel, but once a year at te I-35 Speedway the aroma changes to one which makes you hungry—the smell of mouthwatering meat smoking.

The 3rd Annual Smokin' Trackside BBQ Bash is coming to I-35 Speedway on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10-11.

How American, Racing and BBQ!

Both nights will include entertainment. Friday night events include a People’s Choice Chicken Wing Barbeque contest. Last year this event was over in record time! Attendance on Friday is free to the public.  As a bonus on this night, ATV racers will be displaying their talents on the track.  There will be a cost to enter the pit area and participate in the ATV racing.

Saturday evening will be our regular race night with exciting action in all the I-35 Speedway race car classes.

The Smokin' Trackside BBQ Bash is a KCBS Missouri State Championship points event and a qualifying event for the American Royal World Series of Barbeque, held at Kansas Speedway in September and the Jack Daniels Invitational—two of barbecue's majors later in the year.

In 2017, Dirt Road BBQ earned the Grand Champion Award with Reserve Grand Champion Slaps on their heels.  In the four standard BBQ categories, Dirt Road BBQ was first in chicken, Getting Basted was first in Pork Ribs, Slaps BBQ was first in Pork, and Sublime BBQ, for the second straight year, claimed the first prize in brisket.
