Chateau Raceway postpones Mike Guttormson Memorial to June 15

LANSING Minn. - An afternoon of light rain left things too wet for racing Friday night at Chateau Raceway powered by Husqvarna. The night's program was the second attempt to get the 10th Annual Mike Guttormson Memorial event run. Crews tried to get the track in shape during the late afternoon hours with the skies looking like they were going to hold back anymore rain until late evening but things were just too wet, forcing the postponment.

Officials have decided to move the Guttormson Memorial to Friday night, June 15. As scheduled now, the show will run the night after Deer Creek Speedway hosts this year's Gopher State 50, making for two premier events on each end of the county on consecutive nights.

The Guttormson Memorial will feature the USRA Modifieds with a $1,000-to-win, $200-to-start main event. The class which Guttormson competed in for so many years will also have no entry fee that night for those cars. The night's program will also feature the Power 96 WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Affordable Portable WISSOTA Street Stocks and Albert Lea Pizza Ranch Pure Stocks, with increased purse money in each of those classes as well. The S and S Auto Salvage Hornets and Triple J Disposal Classic Dwarf Cars will not run on the night of the Guttormson Memorial.

Next Friday night, the track will run its regular program with all six classes competing. Race time every Friday night is 7:30.
