Huset’s Speedway canceled for June 7

BRANDON, S.D. - Persistent rain, cold and all-around miserable weather has forced Huset’s Speedway officials to cancel the event for Sunday night, June 7.

Racing will resume next Sunday, June 14, with all five classes in competition.

That evening will also include the make-up feature from the rain-shortened event on May 31.

On that night, Chad Meyer was pacing the USRA Outlaw Sprint Car feature, but rain started falling with just six laps counted.

That feature will resume where it left off, with 19 laps to go and will provide fans some extra excitement next Sunday.

In that same feature, Scott Winters is chasing the Baete-Forseth back row challenge, gunning for a $3,000 bonus at the pay window.

Also, note the world’s best Modified racers are set to take on Huset’s Speedway on June 18. NASCAR’s Kenny Wallace will take on the Best of the Best from the United State Modified National Touring Series. Last year, Al Hejna topped a stout field at Huset’s for the win, and the Clear Lake, Iowa, native is on a hot streak, picking up a recent win at Murray County Speedway.
