New series replaces Dash

A new series has been developed to fill the void created by the suspension of the IPOWER Dash Series.

Randy Claypoole announced the formation of the International Sports Compact Auto Racing Series, which will run compact stock cars with V-6 engines.

"We have several team owners who have invested in ISCARS," said Claypoole, who is president and CEO of the new series, which will be headquartered in Ormond Beach. "In the last two years, they have seen two sanctioning bodies come and go. We don't want this season to completely get away from us."

IPOWER, which sanctioned these cars last season, canceled its prestigious Speed Weeks date at Daytona International Speedway due to lack of funds.

"Every team owner has the opportunity to have an ownership stake," Claypoole said.

Robert Huffman and Bill Bishop are two of the car owners who have bought shares.
