After a brief rain shower passed over the El Paso Speedway Park Friday night, the USRA RHS Modifieds rolled the 3/8-mile clay oval to race ready conditions, and then wrapped up heat race action with Johnny Scott, Jimmy Ray and Stormy Scott taking wins.
The unstoppable west Texas heat wave was not enough to keep the fans away as the USRA Western Flyer HotMods were greeted by packed grandstands to close out the month of June at the El Paso Speedway Park.
As the west Texas winds calmed to a slight breeze, the pits at the El Paso Speedway Park began to fill with drivers from Texas, New Mexico and Arizona with the USRA RHS Modifieds headlining the nights action.
It was a crazy night to say the least at the El Paso Speedway Park but in the end Pat Carney won with Rob Madrid, Alex Gonzales, Duane Murphy and Javier Zapien Jr. rounding out the top five.
