Dennis Holds Off Westover for Saturday Night Win at Lawton Speedway

LAWTON, Okla (May 16, 2026) - It was another exciting Saturday night of dirt track racing at the semi-banked 1/4-mile oval of Lawton Speedway as the Mel Hambelton Ford USRA Modifieds rolled into town with 16 tough competitors checking in through the pit gate.

When the dust settled, it was Cole Dennis parking it in victory lane after charging to the win from the third starting position. Kale Westover gave the #11D everything he had and stayed right on Dennis’s rear bumper throughout the feature, but came up just short at the checkered flag. James Reed crossed the stripe in third, Cameron Reed followed in fourth, and Chad Howell put together one of the drives of the night by advancing from the 13th starting spot to round out the top five.

The next racing action at Lawton Speedway comes on Saturday, May 23, as Comanche County Night takes center stage featuring the Sunoco Race Fuels USRA Factory Stocks and Limited Mods. Fans can follow updates and event information on the speedway’s Facebook page or visit Lawton Speedway for more details.
