Foss, Gjere, Sorensen and Helle find success on American Family Insurance Free Night at Mississippi Thunder

FOUNTAIN CITY, Wisc. (May 8, 2026) — American Family Insurance Free Night packed the grandstands Friday at Mississippi Thunder Speedway, where fans were treated to a full night of USRA racing action on the high-banked 1/3-mile oval.

The QuickCar Racing Products USRA Hobby Stocks kicked off the feature action with Caden Helle driving the No. 15C to victory. Travis Krause charged from ninth to finish second, Trevor Krause rallied from 14th to third, Jeremy Werner came from seventh to fourth and Dan Svee rounded out the top five after starting 13th.

In the PEM Racing Gears & Drivetrain USRA B-Mods, Jett Sorensen was perfect in the 20-lap main event, leading every lap on his way to the win. Taylor Skauge finished second, followed by Harley Dais, Mason Stockhausen and Billy Steinberg.

The Christie Door Company USRA Stock Cars brought the ground-pounding action next, with Brayden Gjere going back-to-back after racing from the third starting spot to victory lane. Taylor Skauge added another runner-up finish on the night, while Braden Brauer, Levi Sand and Jake James completed the top five.

The Mel Hambelton Ford USRA Modifieds closed the show with Keith Foss leading the way in the 25-lap main event. Joe Chisholm kept the pressure on in the No. 25C, but Foss held strong to put an end to Chisholm’s hot streak and claim the win. Brad Waits finished third, Harley Dais was fourth and Alex Williamson rounded out the top five.
