Chisholm, Stockhausen, Hare and Monson strike first at Deer Creek Speedway
SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (May 9, 2026) - Deer Creek Speedway opened its doors for the first time in the 2026 season Saturday night with weekly racing action on a beautiful evening in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Four USRA divisions took to the track.
The QuickCar Racing Products USRA Hobby Stocks kicked off feature action with Joshua Monson continuing his strong season, leading 15 of 18 laps to pick up the win. Luke Schluetter finished second, followed by Gavin Bartel, Seth Maier and Ryan Happel, who charged from 13th to fifth.
In the PEM Racing Gears & Drivetrain USRA B-Mods, Mason Stockhausen scored his first career USRA B-Mod victory from the outside front row. Stockhausen led all but one lap in the 18-lap feature. Harley Dais finished second, Jett Sorensen came from eighth to third, Trevor Fecht was fourth and Billy Steinberg rounded out the top five.
The Christie Door Company USRA Stock Cars brought the fans to their feet as “Hare Nation” Brandon Hare raced from seventh to victory lane. Caden Neisius finished second from eighth, Travis Shipman was third, Gavin Bussinger came from ninth to fourth and Brayden Gjere completed the top five.
The night wrapped up with the Mel Hambelton Ford USRA Modifieds, where the “Smoke Show” continued. Joe Chisholm proved once again why he’s one of the hottest Modified drivers in the country, charging from seventh to take the win. Zach Brom finished second, Parker Hale came from 10th to third, Nick Murgic advanced from eighth to fourth and Shaun Walski finished fifth.
