Fennewald and Jackson Strike First with Ironman Series Wins on King of America Opening Night

Wheatland, MO (March 26, 2026) — Opening night of the 15th Annual King of America at Lucas Oil Speedway saw two drivers set the tone for the 2026 season as Johnny Fennewald and Kris Jackson powered to victories in the KS Engineering Iron Man Series competition.

In the KS Engineering Iron Man Stock Cars presented by Terminator Chassis, Johnny Fennewald wasted no time making a statement. Piloting his No. 21 machine, Fennewald led 17 laps en route to victory, never facing a serious challenge once he secured the top spot. Smooth, consistent, and in complete control, Fennewald etched his name as the first Stock Car winner of the 2026 King of America and the early season leader in the Iron Man ranks.

The KS Engineering Iron Man B-Mods presented by Harris Auto Racing saw a dominant performance from Missouri’s Kris Jackson. Starting from the outside of the front row, Jackson led every lap of the feature, showcasing both speed and precision behind the wheel of his No. 65. With a flawless run from green to checkered, Jackson secured the first B-Mod victory of the season in convincing fashion.

Both Fennewald and Jackson collected $1,000 paydays along with early-season bragging rights as the Iron Man Series kicked off under the bright lights of Lucas Oil Speedway.

With opening night complete, momentum now shifts to the remainder of the King of America weekend, where drivers will continue to battle for position, prestige, and a shot at locking into Saturday night’s championship finales.

The Summit Racing Equipment USMTS presented by RacinDirt.com continues action Thursday through Saturday with a full slate of racing featuring USMTS Modifieds, Iron Man Stock Cars, and Iron Man B-Mods.
