King Cruises to Second Iron-Man Victory; Abbey Inherits Another Win After Post-Race DQ

Wheatland, MO (March 28, 2026) — Night #3 of the 15th Annual King of America XV at Lucas Oil Speedway delivered another action-packed evening for the USRA Iron Man Series, with standout performances, dramatic lead changes, and post-race twists shaking up the final results.

Cody King put together another dominant performance in the Ironman B-Mod division, driving his No. 510 machine to victory lane for the second time during the prestigious event. Starting from the pole position, King set the tone early but was far from uncontested.

King and fellow front-runner Jon Sheets waged an intense battle throughout the 30-lap main event, each driver leading 15 laps apiece in a thrilling back-and-forth duel that kept fans on their feet. In the end, it was King who found just enough to pull away late and secure the $3,000 payday for Night #3.

Behind the lead duo, Mike Striegel put on one of the most impressive drives of the night, charging from the 11th starting position to round out the podium with a hard-earned third-place finish.

In Iron Man Stock Car action, the outcome took another dramatic turn following post-race technical inspection.

Shayne Bailey initially crossed the finish line first, appearing to secure the victory. However, after failing post-race tech, Bailey was disqualified, handing the win over to Jeffrey Abbey.

Abbey, who found himself in the right place at the right time for a second time, officially picked up his second Iron Man Series victory of the weekend along with the $3,000 winner’s share. While not the way any driver prefers to win, Abbey capitalized on consistency and compliance to add another trophy to his resume.

Up Next: The Ironman Warriors Head to Iowa
