Chisholm, Brown, Dobel, and Skauge score wins at the Mason City Motor Speedway

MASON CITY, Iowa (May 3, 2026) — The Mason City Motor Speedway completed Night No. 2 of the 2026 season Sunday night with several new faces finding victory lane and strong fields across all five divisions.

With 20-plus mph winds blowing across the bullring all day, the track crew went to work throughout the night to keep the racing surface in shape. The Busch Light Hobby Stocks followed with 15 cars and put on a whale of a race. Scott Dobel charged from fifth to score the win over Gavin Bartel. Pole sitter Oliver Monson finished third, Zac Smith came from eighth to fourth, and Kolby Goepel completed the top five.

In the Window World of Mason City B-Mods, Taylor Skauge started on the pole and never looked back, collecting the $600 payday. Ben Moudry charged from eighth to finish second, Harley Dais came from ninth to third, Trevor Fecht was fourth, and “Stormin’” George Nordman advanced from 12th to finish fifth. The B-Mods also had 18 cars checked in.

The Christie Door Company USRA Stock Cars had 17 cars on hand and worked the high side for much of their main event. Jesse Brown picked up the $700 victory, with “Mean Green” Derek Green second, Brandon Hare third, Todd Staley fourth, and Jason Fisher fifth.

The night ended with a thriller from the Shane Monson Construction USRA Modifieds. Joe Chisholm completed a clean sweep of the weekend after winning three times at Mississippi Thunder Speedway and then charging from eighth at Mason City to pocket the $1,000 payday. Alex Williamson finished second, while Taton Hansen led every lap but the one that mattered before contact with the turn one wall left him third. Harley Dais finished fourth and Nick Murgic came from 14th to fifth.

The Mason City Motor Speedway will now take a two-week break before returning Memorial Day Weekend with a huge showdown on Sunday, May 24, featuring the Summit Racing Equipment USMTS presented by RacinDirt.com and Pro Late Models along with all of our weekly classes.
