Hovden, Monson, Schlangen & Bravener Claim Season Opener Victories at Fayette County Speedway

WEST UNION, Iowa (May 1, 2026) - Fayette County Speedway officially kicked off the 2026 season on Friday night with a strong field of USRA competition featuring the Mesilla Valley Transportation USRA Tuners, QuickCar Racing Products USRA Hobby Stocks, Christie Door Company USRA Stock Cars, and Bryke Racing USRA B-Mods.

The first feature to hit the speedway was the Mesilla Valley Transportation USRA Tuners. Jentry Bravener claimed the opening night victory after starting on the front row outside and never looking back. Nolan Lerch crossed the stripe in 2nd while Perry Kessel rounded out the podium in 3rd. Dalton Fels finished 4th and Dillon Riehle completed the top five.

The QuickCar Racing Products USRA Hobby Stocks put on another exciting show as last season’s USRA National Points runner-up Joshua Monson charged from the 6th starting position to capture the win. Chance Hillman drove from 7th to finish 2nd while Daryl Moss made one of the biggest moves of the feature advancing from 12th to 3rd. Joshua Ludeking finished 4th and Aaron Kleppe rounded out the top five.

The Christie Door Company USRA Stock Cars once again delivered thrilling action for the fans in attendance. Jason Schlangen dominated much of the 20-lap main event, leading 18 laps en route to the victory on opening night. Multi-time champion Mitch Hovden crossed the line in 2nd while Braden Brauer picked up a solid 3rd-place finish. Troy Hansmeier finished 4th and Kevin Donlan completed the top five.

Closing out the night were the Bryke Racing USRA B-Mods where reigning USRA National Champion Dan Hovden added another victory to his impressive résumé. Hovden powered to the win from the 3rd starting spot while Ben Moudry advanced from 7th to finish 2nd. Pole sitter Jackson Carey held on for 3rd followed by Troy Hovey in 4th and Ashton Pankow in 5th.
