Lakeside Speedway Spotlight Belongs to Shields and Karrick
KANSAS CITY, Kansas (May 1, 2026) - The Lakeside Speedway hosted two USRA divisions on Friday night with the Schweizer Performance USRA Stock Cars and the Show-Me Whitetail Expo USRA B-Mods.
The Schweizer Performance USRA Stock Cars undoubtedly put on one of the best shows each and every week. Heat race number one would belong to the young gun #711 Dylan Holt and #15 Nick Drew Jr would claim heat two. Drew Jr and Dylan Holt would lead us to the green and Holt would jump out to the early race lead and easily had one of the fastest cars on the track until something would go wrong in the middle of the race leading for him to pull off the racetrack. The lead would be given to the white knight of Kacey Shields which was stride for stride with Dylan Holt and with a clear racetrack ahead Shields would win it, parking it in victory lane! Chris Dishong in the Smith prepared racecar would come from seventh into the second spot. Out of Cameron, MO Gavin Grier would have a rocket of a racecar and come from 12th to round out the podium. Justin Seifert would claim yet again another top 5 and be right there in the mix to get fourth. Rounding out the top five would be no slouch, “Joe” #74 Rodney Schweizer would be the hard charger starting 15th and ending up fifth
Last but not least the Show-Me Whitetail Expo USRA B-Mods would have the last race of the night. The living legend Tim Karrick would win heat one while the long haired bandit, Kerry Davis with his Yeoman race engine would claim the second heat race. Davis and Karrick would lead us to the green and Davis would have the run and was out front early for a yellow to fly restacking the field. Karrick learned from the last restart and got a much better run to jump out front and walk away from the rest of the field. Davis and the 57c of smooth Chad Clancy would battle throughout the race with Clancy edging out Davis for second. Davis would settle for the third spot and would lead for the 57s of Darren Shaw to come home fourth. Rounding out the top five would be the “Big Cat” Tyson Lanfermann.
