Mulder, Schlumbohm and Bronner bag opening-night wins at Rapid Speedway
ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa (May 1, 2026) - The Rapid Speedway opened its season with three USRA classes on the docket, featuring 12 Edelbrock USRA Stock Cars, 19 QuickCar Racing Products USRA Hobby Stocks and 15 PEM Racing Gears & Drivetrain USRA B-Mods.
Tyler Schlumbohm kicked off the feature action in the Hobby Stocks, leading all 12 laps on his way to victory over a stout field. Landon Krohn finished second, Nick Brady third, Josh Froseth fourth and multi-time Hobby Stock champion Dustin Gulbrandson charged from ninth to fifth.
In the B-Mod division, Kaeden Bronner started on the pole and never looked back, leading all 15 laps to capture the opening-night win. Dustin Kruse chased him to the checkered flag in second, followed by Oliver Sackett, Brayden Ahlers and Jake Richards.
The USRA Stock Cars closed the night on the 3/8-mile semi-banked oval, where Jackson Mulder had his hands full in a battle with Colby Klaassen. Mulder came out on top, with Klaassen settling for second. Rich Gregoire finished third, CJ Vanbeek rallied from 12th to fourth and Trevor Kracht rounded out the top five after starting ninth.
