Steffen-Ludwig charges from 11th to victory at Red Cedar Speedway

MENOMONIE, Wisconsin (May 1, 2026) - The Red Cedar Speedway welcomed 18 MD3 USRA Late Models to the pit area on Friday night for an exciting evening of racing action, and fans were treated to an impressive charge through the field by Caden Steffen-Ludwig.

Starting from the 11th position, Steffen-Ludwig wasted little time making his way toward the front of the field. Using multiple grooves around the speedway and slicing through heavy traffic, the Wisconsin driver methodically worked his way into contention before ultimately taking command late in the race to secure the feature victory.

Ryan Howe put together a strong run of his own and crossed the finish line in the runner-up position after battling near the front throughout the main event. Larry Fitzsimmons delivered another consistent performance to finish third, while Cam Panitzke came home fourth. Triton Krause rounded out the top five finishers in the competitive MD3 USRA Late Model feature.

The Friday night event once again showcased the depth of talent in the MD3 USRA Late Model division as drivers from throughout the region battled wheel-to-wheel in front of the Red Cedar Speedway faithful.
