Opening night a success at Hamilton County Speedway

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (May 2, 2026) - The 2026 Hamilton County Speedway season got off to a successful start on Saturday night, with champions crowned in five different divisions.

Local favorite Ty Griffith of Blairsburg was victorious in the feature race for the USRA B-Mods. Griffith took the checkered flag ahead of Kaeden Bronner of Austin, Minn. and Pierson’s Oliver Sackett.

Derek Green of Granada, Minn. earned the crown in the USRA Stock Cars race.

Lyle Sathoff of Sherburn, Minn. prevailed in the USRA Modifieds event, with Ankeny’s Ben Nading and Fort Dodge’s Bill Crimmins securing silver and bronze, respectively.

Clear Lake’s Joshua Monson won the USRA Hobby Stocks race, with Manly’s Scott Dobel and Riley Crimmins of Fort Dodge taking second and third, respectively.

Nearly 60 cars were in action for opening night at the venerable central Iowa track.

Action returns to Hamilton County Speedway on Saturday, May 16, with Bingo Night. All fans in attendance will receive a bingo card for prizes.

The Modifieds, Stock Cars, B-Mods, Hobby Stocks and Crown Vics will again be vying for titles. Pits open at 4 p.m., with gates at 5. Hot laps are at 6 and racing starts at 6:30 p.m.
